What's his name? Erik, the Big Man

How long have you been together? 20 years next month

How long did you date? I'm not sure we ever had an official date. We were friends... then we were more...then we were married.

How old is he? 39

Who eats more? That's tough. He might eat more at meals but I snack more.

Who said I love you first? He did.

Who is taller? He is.

Who is smarter? He is. Hands down. I know more trivial facts, but he has much better discerning skills in almost every area.

Who does laundry? I do. He is perfectly capable, but I do it.

Who does the dishes? Most of the time, I do. But, he helps out a LOT.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? He does.

Who pays the bills? He does. But we just had the conversation tonight that if something were to happen to him, I don't remember any of the necessary passwords to do that. So we are going to work on sharing it.

Who mows the lawn? He does...99.99% of the time. I help out, but it's not really a chore because we have a riding mower.

Who cooks dinner? I usually do. He works in a restaurant, and is a good cook, but once he comes home, that is not what he wants to do.

Who drives when you are together? He does. I don't like to drive, and am not a particularly good driver, so I gladly relinquish driving duties to him. He is a great driver.

Who is more stubborn? It completely depends on the situation.

Who kissed who first? That was completely mutual.

Who asked out who first? See above...wasn't a traditional dating situation.

Who proposed? Once again, non-traditional...that is who we are. It was just more or less agreed upon.

Who has more siblings? We each have one brother.

Who wears the pants in the family? It's a partnership, but if we come to an impasse, I would defer to him...it just hasn't happened yet.

Thanks to Chel for the tag. If you choose to join in, please let me know!!!

Goings on

It seems that we are constantly busy, but I cannot think of what we are doing. We just enjoyed a four day weekend. I had to work a half day Friday, but was home by 11:30. We took T. Willy to a birthday party. He didn't mind at all that he was the only boy there. One of the girls was in his preschool class. She ran up to him and gave him a hug, but he kind of just stood there. Even at his age, the boys don't seem to hug each other much. Speaking of his age...we have been talking about his fourth birthday coming up in April. I asked him if he was excited about turning four. His answer! "Um, I think I'll just stay three."

Back to school today. The kids were wild. It felt like a Friday. I work at a Christian school where they have to wear uniforms. On Fridays they are permitted to wear jeans with their uniform shirt. They just know that they aren't in uniform and act very differently. Report cards went out today. I gave the worst report card I have ever given. One student had 2 F's and a D. I also had to write negative comments about the lack of effort on his behalf...the complete and total lack of effort. For instance...one test grade...a 19% on an OPEN BOOK TEST!!!!! Frustrating, yet I can't help but feel bad about it.

So, that's a little update from our house. Have a great day!!!

First class

Tonight was my first class. Once I arrived, I think it went really well. However, getting there often proves challenging for me. For weeks I have known where I was going. I had no hesitation because I knew where it was. I drove there tonight and it was not where I thought it was. We call these my "bubbles" moments. Actually, the first place I went was where the Big Man thought it was too. After asking questions, I found the correct place and it was smooth sailing from there. I left the house very early...who knew how much I needed that extra time?

The class was very quiet. For some it was their very first college class, for others it was their first in years. We did introductions, business and a get to know you activity that was also a diagnostic writing assignment. Thanks to all of you who wished me well and prayed for me tonight. I'll try to update more as it goes along.

Have a great night!

Welcome, January!

I cannot tell you how happy I am that Christmas is over, cleaned up, and put away. For some reason I just did not enjoy Christmas this year. Perhaps it was because I had a late start decorating and shopping. I resolve to do better next year..let's see how it goes.

We are home now. We had a lovely trip to Delaware. We visited with family and friends and had a wonderful time. Now we are home and went back to school today. It was not a difficult transition. The students were so excited to be back. I have a meeting at the college on Friday afternoon. I cannot believe that class begins Monday! It's a busy time for us, but an exciting one too.

MK has been asking for quite a while to color her hair.....PINK! On our last night in Delaware, we put a bit of pink in the front and then did some on the longest layer in the back (my favorite.) It looks really good, but we were a little concerned about what they would say at school. She was worried because she has never been in trouble at school before, but we assured her that she wouldn't be in trouble at home. She made it through the whole day and her last period teacher said that she should probably change it.The principal was out today, so she suggested we do it before the principal returns. That is what we did tonight. It didn't come out completely but has settled to a subtle shade of maroon. We are leaving the pink in the back. I will post pictures soon.

So that's it for us. Have a great day!
