Happy Easter!

We participated in the requisite Easter activities. We dyed eggs. The kids had baskets. We went to an Easter egg hunt. Somehow it was just different this year. Our kids are big, and things aren't the same. Coloring eggs was kind of anti-climactic. The egg hunt was fun, but not filled with the excitement it once had. They didn't even look for their baskets this morning. On our way out the door to church, I asked them if they'd gotten their baskets and they had forgotten about them.

I've had to accept the fact...they're growing up. T. Willy turns 9 in a couple of weeks, but he's only about a head shorter than I am. MK is starting her last marking period of high school tomorrow. All of it good - it just feels sudden.

Speaking of MK...she has been a blonde for years and decided to make a change. She now has beautiful brown hair, and it looks great on her. It just shocks me when she walks into the room. I'll get used to it.

Believe me, none of that makes me sad. I am so happy that they are growing up and turning into such neat people. I think it just hit me suddenly that they are getting so grown.

Well, that was fun!

We had a whirlwind week. I can't believe it's over already. It ended with a dance for the kids and a "meet and greet" for the troupe directors. I learned a lot and met new people and just had a great time overall. I also enjoyed watching the kids at the dance. What a blast!!!

I adored the time spent with the kids - loved having my family with me - and now I get to go home for Spring Break. I have a lot of projects around the house that I'd like to accomplish, and I'd also like some rest too.

It's about 1:30 in the morning, so I guess I'll go to sleep before we drive back home.

Tampa - Take 2

As sponsor of our theatre club, Thespian, at school, I get to bring students to our state festival in Tampa. This is my second year going, and I'm really enjoying it. We have a great group of kids and so many this year that we had to bring two mini vans. The Big Man is driving the other one, so it's turned into a family trip too. T. Willy is here, and MK is in the group that will perform tomorrow. Last year we didn't stay in a great hotel, but this year it's really nice, and we're having a great time.

The boys are exploring while we are in workshops and watching events, so everyone is staying busy.

The Harlem Shake

I can't say that I get it, but it is the thing of the moment, so the leadership classes at school got in on it. They taped it Thursday, and I stopped by to watch. MK was in it but hard to see. It's just a great example of why I love our school so much. The spirit is alive!!!
