Yard work

The Big Man had the day off today, so we started early shopping.  We bought mulch and plants and some landscaping bricks and then we worked in the yard.

I bought him a double adirondack chair for Father's Day, and he built it earlier in the week. I put a water seal on it, and we built an area in the yard for it.  So instead of boring you with details, I'll share pictures

Fishing Camp - Day 3!

The Big Man took T. Willy tonight.  T. caught 3 fish!!!!  So it's just a picture night.  Camp is out until Tuesday night, and that will be the last night.

MK is still sick.  My poor baby.   The dr. prescribed two rounds of antibiotics.  They cannot start working soon enough. She has missed working at VBS and working at her regular job.  I know she is eager to get well and enjoy her summer.

Fishing - Day 2

T. Willy didn't catch anything tonight, but he still seemed to enjoy himself.  Another boy had caught a few fish, so when he snagged yet another, the coach let T. reel it in. That made him happy.

The Big Man was able to come for awhile tonight, and T. Willy enjoyed getting to fish with him for a bit.

I had a lucky 5 minutes. I caught a catfish, and then not a minute after I
dropped my line back in, I caught a bluegill.  It was very exciting for me. I had baited crickets, worms and biscuit dough all night, and I was glad to finally catch something.

MK is still sick.  I know she would love being there to fish with T.  I'm hoping she will be much better tomorrow. She's really quite miserable.

Pictures!

A good good night.

We tried to find some fun things for T. Willy to do this summer, so we enrolled him in fishing camp and tennis camp. Fishing camp started tonight.  T. Willy was NOT excited about it, but we encouraged him to try it and to have a good attitude. He really did!  The best part was that with just a short while left, he caught a catfish - his first ever!  He was so excited!  Of course, my phone died right before it happened, because it didn't seem like it was going to happen.  Now he has decided that he likes fishing!

It's a busy week, because it's also VBS at church.  T. Willy is having a great time, and MK is working in crafts.  Unfortunately, she started feeling sick last night and couldn't go today. I almost just chalked it up to allergies, but I took her to the doctor.  Bronchitis and an ear infection!  Poor girl.  She had a shot and was given some antibiotics.  I'm hoping she will feel like a new person tomorrow.

I have had to take a certification exam as a requirement for teaching English.  I put it off, but I finally took it before school ended.  The results came in tonight, and I passed.  I am so relieved!   I'm just glad to have it behind me.

So that's our day today.  Hoping for another good one tomorrow.  With the test off my mind, I can really relax and enjoy myself.

News.

We have been pet free for awhile.  MK reminds me frequently that I promised a dog after our last cat, and I'm making good on that promise.  A friend of mine is selling some German Shepherd puppies, and we picked one out.  This seemed like a good time because with summer here, we have time to devote to its training.  We won't get it until July 11, and it will probably take that long to decide on a name.  T. Willy is set on Ruby; the Big Man likes Scarlet; and MK likes Emmylou.  I go back and forth, but I'm leaning toward Emmylou.  So I'll keep you updated, and here are some pictures we took when we went to see her.

Let summer begin

We came home on Saturday - four days on the road and four days at the beach.  We had a great time, but it's also great to be home.

On Friday, we stopped at a neat restaurant in South Carolina. So I'll include some pictures and some random traveling shots.

Just pictures.

It's been too long.

I cannot believe how long it has been since I posted. I think I've been in denial about all the things going on. I've also been really really busy.

Since I last posted, we performed our play.  It went really well. I was so proud of their hard work.  The cast was a dream, and, while I'm happy for the break, I cannot wait for the next one.

Bigger news:  MK turned 18 and graduated from high school!  When I started this blog, I think she was starting 5th grade.  She has grown into a beautiful young woman, and I am so very proud of her.

The school year has ended, and I'm finished for the summer. No complaints here!  T. Willy ended on a great note, and we are all happy to have a nice long break.

As I'm writing, we are on vacation with my side of the family in the Outer Banks, North Carolina.  On Saturday, my parents will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.  My brother and his wife will celebrate 25 years in August, and MK and my nephew graduated this year, so we have a lot to celebrate!  We are staying in a house right on the ocean.  We've explored and eaten great food and had an overall wonderful time.

So I will post pictures of as much of the last two months as I can. Have a great day!
