Oh my soul.

So much going on!! Tonight we had a nice quiet evening, and the kids and I are watching movies and taking it easy.

We had a really fun day. The kids at school did a "lip dub" yesterday. It was released to everyone today, so we have watched it over and over. It's been a great experience.

MK and I also gave blood today. I was actually just going to visit her while she gave, and they hadn't closed up yet, so I was able to donate. We felt great about helping others, so it added to our fun day.

Tomorrow MK has a leadership clinic to attend, so it's another busy weekend. We will enjoy our quiet night, and the Big Man and I will take T. Willy to the beach tomorrow. It will be our first trip this season - another reason we are blessed to live where we do.

T. Willy had birthday money to spend, so here is a picture of him and his new purchase and a picture of MK and me and our bandages.

Games 5&6!

It was getting too close for comfort, but the Flyers managed to pull off a convincing win!!! The Penguins gave them a battle in the series, but I was happy to see the Flyers finish it up today!!!

Late

I didn't post this on Wednesday, so I'm posting that picture tonight. There will be a new one tomorrow after we watch the game for tonight. The Big Man just got home from work, and we recorded it to watch.

Fun times!

Yesterday was T. Willy's 8th birthday!!! MK made cupcakes, and the Big Man took them to school to share with T.'s class. We went bowling and then to T. Willy's choice for dinner - Arby's - and we ate there because he specifically wanted to eat inside. It was a really fun time.

I woke up this morning and could barely open my eye. I managed to get my contact out, but it just hurt and watered. This is a big testing week at school, but I was able to get a sub and get an appointment with the eye doctor. I scratched my eye right in the center which he said was unusual. Then I came home to rest it and slept for about 4 hours straight. It still hurts, but I have an antibiotic and she said it should feel better tomorrow. I sure hope so.

MK is being a big help. She took T. Willy in the pool for his first time this year and is now making dinner. She is a special girl!

Fun in PC

We had a really fun weekend. Yesterday we went to Panama City and spent the day at Pier Park. We ate and shopped and walked around, and T. Willy and I rode a ferris wheel. We drove home along the beach. It was a great day. Here are pictures.

3-0

Whew...we aren't there yet, but we're close. MK and the Big Man aren't too happy, but I'm not really a trash talker, so they're okay with me enjoying it.

Two and ooohhhh.

So, I grew up outside of Philadelphia, and the Big Man was born outside of Pittsburgh. We are loyal to our local teams. This really doesn't cause problems - except for hockey. My Flyers and his Penguins are in the same conference. It's playoff time, and they are playing right now.

It's two games in, and the Flyers are up two games to one. I am well aware that the tournament is a best of seven, so it isn't nearly over yet, but we're having some fun with it.

Happy Easter!

We had a great day! After church, we had a delicious lunch, and after that, we went to a friend's house to hunt Easter eggs. What a ball! They live on a lake, so the kids went on the paddle boat. MK's friends are so thoughtful and include T. Willy in everything. The Big Man was even able to join us, and he and T. Willy had a great time playing ball in the yard.

Together again

My parents are visiting, so we took my mom geocaching yesterday. We had a lot of fun and had a nice visit to our local strawberry farm for some of their fresh frozen yogurt. It was a great day, and we are looking forward to another fun one today. We are going to an Easter egg hunt at the home of one of MK's friends. It should be a great day!

Fun night!

MK is a sweet big sister! She and her boyfriend, MM, took T. Willy to a local carnival the other night. He had a ball and loves to hang out with her and her friends. She was also thoughtful enough to send me pictures and videos while they were there. Here is one right after snow-cones!

A lot of cache

Today the kids and friends and I tried something new: geocaching. I'd heard a little bit about it, and it sounded goofy to me, but once we tried it, I was hooked! So here are some pictures of our adventure. I'm hoping there will be more! My parents are visiting soon, and I already have my mom on board.

Changes

I put MK's freshman and junior year school pictures side by side. Wow...she just gets prettier. I love this girl! Freshman year is on the right - Junior on the left.

Busy

I spent a busy spring break doing yard work. I pulled some bushes by their roots and did a lot of digging to expand the flower bed. I'm very pleased with the progress. I'm posting some before and after pictures - sure hope you can tell which is which. The next job is to work on the grass.

I've wanted to do a project for several years, and I finally did it. I don't have a before picture, but I do have an after. I'm really pleased. It turned out to be LSU colors. That wasn't planned, but MK picked up in it right away. It works because the Big Man is an LSU fan.

The last picture is one taken of the four of us when we were in Tampa. It is rare that I remember to ask someone to take one of the four of us, so I seized the opportunity.

Triple B

We went to the Triple B today in our downtown. It stands for barbecue, bluegrass and Blackwater, I think. We enjoyed some barbecue, shaved ice and funnel cake. We walked around and looked at different booths, caught up with friends we haven't seen all week while we've been on Spring Break and just all around had a fun time.

Line up

I stood in a line for almost two hours last night with MK and her friends to see "The Hunger Games." I confess that I hadn't read the book, but I really enjoyed the movie. We had so much fun. The show was at midnight, and I seriously think it was the longest line I've ever been in, and we had pre-purchased our tickets. The crowd was really into the movie, and that added to the fun.

More!

Pictures!!!

Whew...

It has been a whirlwind around here, and it isn't going to stop until the end of May.

Last week was the Florida State Thespian Festival.  I'm the sponsor of Thespian (basically the drama club,) so I took a group down to Tampa to perform in a small group musical. It was my first trip to Tampa, and I confess being a little nervous about it, but I couldn't have asked for a better trip.  MK came with us, and it was so fun having her on the trip too.

I loved Tampa.  It was beautiful and clean, and the weather was perfect.  The group performed beautifully, and the Big Man and T. Willy surprised us by joining us on Friday night.

Now it's Spring Break, and I've been busy since we came home.  I've Ben cleaning and doing yard work.  I'd hoped to finish the front yard yesterday, but i still have a bit to do.  Then I'm going to finish the back yard, clean out the shed and relax at some point.  I want to get all of the yard work finished, because as soon as we get back to school, auditions begin for the spring play.  We've chosen "The Sound of Music." I'm very excited!

Yesterday, MK's friends went to the zoo and invited T. Willy along.  They had a great time, and it was so sweet of them to ask him.

Who knew?

So apparently stores sell costumes for St. Patrick's Day. I really had no idea, but the kids and I were loitering in a store waiting for the Big Man, and they found some.

Spring is on the way

The Big Man is out of town for a couple of days for work, so I'm hanging with the kids. Today we went to the nursery to look at plants and then out to dinner. Mondays are 99 cent taco nights - so that's what we had. It was a great time, and here is a picture of the kids with their Gerbera daisies.
