Quick fix

We bought this plant hanger last year, but it stood alone because plants were too heavy for it. Optimistically, I bought a container of flowers to add color to the bland corner, and it sagged with the weight of it. While I was watering plants tonight, I remembered some blocks that we had but weren't using: my solution! So the flowers are hanging, and I'm happy with it.

What we've been doing

We've been enjoying some beautiful weather, so it was time to start working outside. My parents gave me some raised planters for my birthday. The Big Man assembled them for me, so I filled them with tomatoes, peppers and zucchini. I'll let you know how it goes. Today I planted some flowers in the front yard. So here are pictures of them all.

A fun end to our break

Our Spring Break officially ended today. Now it's just the weekend again. We had such a fun and busy break, and there are only 7 weeks of school left until summer vacation!!!!

Today we went with a group of MK's friends to the beach. It was wonderful! The water was beautiful; the kids were great, and it was just fun all around.

Here is a picture of T. Willy running around in the water. MK is one of the heads in the back to the right. It was too cold for me to get in the water, but the kids braved it and had a ball.

Baker Day

This morning started early with a trip to the high school. We painted "bleachers" for the spring play and had a fun, relaxing time. MK spent the night with her friend, and they went to the zoo in Panama City, so the Big Man, T. Willy and I had an adventure. We've done some spring cleaning, so we took a trip to the dump!

I know it sounds strange, but I love to go to the tiny town where the dump is, so it was fun for me.

After our big trip to the dump, we went to one of two restaurants in Baker: the Gator Cafe. I had the Blue Plate special - served on a plate that said "Blue Plate."

Project

When we were in Texas, we found the first cross. We've collected a few more and finally got them on a wall in the front entry today. We'll look for some more, and that should be a fun family project.

There was a knock on our door tonight....

And a pony was there!!! Our neighbor has a pony, and she keeps it at her house sometimes. Tonight was one of those times!!! She gave T. Willy a ride: his first pony ride ever. He wasn't sure at first, but he did it and really enjoyed it.

Something to write about.

We have been very busy, but there hasn't been anything specific to motivate me to post. Today, however, we have done fun things - plus Spring Break has started, so we have time!

We are going to a Winter Guard show tonight in Fort Walton Beach, so we came down early to do some shopping. We found MK an Easter dress, so that was successful. Then we had some extra time and stopped to walk on the beach. Pictures!

Beautiful day!

Today was absolutely gorgeous, so we spent time outside doing yard work. The Big Man mowed, and the kids were able to use the mower too. They had a ball!

Home!

We're home and tired, but we had a great getaway. Things will be back to normal all too soon.

We stopped at a farmer's market today and bought some strawberries. As soon as we settled in, MK covered some in chocolate, and that was our dessert. They were delicious!! T. Willy said, "You know, Mom, MK is a better chef than you are." He always speaks the truth.

What a fun day!

We spent the morning with the Big Man. He showed us around the area; we ate breakfast and lunch together, then he had to go to work. The kids and I stayed in the hotel for a little while, and then we went out to dinner and did some shopping. It was a lot of fun, and we're all tired.

So we're back at the hotel. The kids are in their room. T. Willy is already out cold. We bought some books, so MK will be busy, and I have a few hours alone until the Big Man gets home. I know it's silly, but I always thought it would be a big extravagance to have a hotel room all to myself...and now I have it.

On the road

We're visiting the Big Man! We drove over tonight, and we really like the area. There should be a lot to do and see and take pictures of. We'll spend the morning with him, and after he goes to work, we'll do some exploring.

Tonight's picture is of MK and a pan that cooks a single egg. Eggs are one of her favorite foods...I think she needs it.

Let's gather round...

We had tornado warnings today during school, so we had to stay in the classroom for about 40 extra minutes during 4th period. Happily for me, MK is in that class, so I knew that she was safe. The class was over, so we occupied ourselves playing games and even singing. I'm not kidding. It was a blast. I can't post any videos or pictures of the students, so here is Spongebob - because they sang "The Campfire Song" song. The storms ended, and we were able to resume our day safely.

We're out...

To dinner. The Big Man is home, so we went out to dinner tonight. We snapped a few pictures, because he leaves again tomorrow. It will all be over a month from today, and then he'll be home for good.

Two of my favorite girls

Here is a picture from 1997 when MK and I were in my dear friend, Shannon's, wedding. MK was 2 in this picture, and we were still living in North Carolina at the time. It's a picture of a picture, so it isn't very sharp, but you get the idea.

Good night

MK and I partnered up tonight to give T. Willy a haircut. We sent this picture to the Big Man since he's working out of town. I really do enjoy this technology.

Posting a random pic tonight, because we've been too busy for blogging. Play rehearsals are in swing, the Big Man is out of town, and I am just plain tired.

Tonight's picture is of a shower curtain. I considered this one when we were redoing the kids' bathroom. We thought about doing a Steelers' bathroom. We decided against it. However, T. Willy's room is the same theme his nursery was, and we are likely going to redo his room for his 7th birthday next month, and it is likely going to be a full out Steelers room.
