A day at the fair
Then we walked around the fair. We saw exhibits and rode rides and just had a fun family day.
T. Willy is reading over my shoulder. He wants you to know that he loved everything except the cows and goats.

Another great day
Then we drove out to Plano where the Big Man lived as a kid. We saw his schools and the house where he lived. I loved getting to see all of that.
We shopped and ate and had another really fun day. I'm already a little emotional about having to leave Tuesday. Tomorrow we go to the Texas State Fair. That should be a lot of fun.
I'm having trouble posting here. I'm not sure why, but I've tried to post pictures, and they aren't all working, but I'll give it another try.

Texas-sized fun!
The Big Man had to work today, so the kids and I found something fun to do. Six Flags over Texas is pretty much across the street from our hotel, so we went there. A trolley picked us up at the hotel and delivered us right to the park.
It was pouring rain when we got there. Only 3 rides were open, but we determined that we were going to make the best of it. We bought rain ponchos (instant souvenirs) and rode what we could. The weather cleared, and more rides opened. The lines were short for the rest of the day, and it never got hot. A kid gave T. Willy a basketball which made him so happy. MK was a dream the whole day...I couldn't have asked for more fun unless the Big Man could have joined us.
The Big Man picked us up from the park after work, and we went out to eat. We had a great night. Then we went to the Walmart right by the Cowboys' stadium. I am not a Cowboy fan, but wow...the stadium is gorgeous!
Now pictures!

Homecoming Fun

Second is better than third.
We won the game 47-6. It was a lot of fun. We had the parade and a pep rally today and enjoyed all of the festivities. So here are pictures of much of it.

Pretty in pink
Since tomorrow is homecoming, it's been Spirit Week. Today was class color day. The Sophomore class color is pink, so here is a picture of MK and friends in their pink.

Happy Labor Day!
T. Willy and I also shopped today. We had moderate success, but we found that "Five Guys" is now open. We have eaten at one near my brother's house and are happy to have one here. So that's today's picture.

Like mother, like daughter.
The Big Man and T. Willy usually leave the football games at halftime, because T. gets bored. That's what they did last night. So I stay and take MK home. That's what we did last night. Since MK has to get to the game so early, she's pretty hungry by the time we go home.
Last night we stopped at the Burger King drive-thru on the way home. I ordered and paid and they handed me the drinks...and I started to drive away. MK asked, "Where are you going?". I was about 2 feet from the window and realized I was driving away without her food. I tried to back up, but the people behind me had already moved up. So I was stuck away from the window without her food. And I started laughing. I mean laughing so hard that I couldn't catch my breath. The employee was able to reach the food to me, and he started laughing too. I think it's the first time I've ever done that, but I assured MK that it's only going to get worse. She didn't disagree.
So, here's her story. I took MK and two of her sweet friends shopping for dresses to wear to the Homecoming Dance next Saturday. We didn't have much luck shopping, but we had a fun day. We did find what we're calling a "backup" dress. MK likes it but doesn't love it. However, the price couldn't be beaten, so we bought it. She had just tried it on, and we were standing in line to pay for it when her friend looked at her and realized that she'd put her shirt on backwards. MK fell to the floor laughing, and I was able to snap a picture of it. I smile every time I look at it, and I hope you will too.
