11 & 0?

Yeah - you right.

Leaving for the game

The Big Man and his dad.

From Erik's view

The answer is, "YES!!!!"

The question is: are you ready for some football?

Die, Just Die

(A line from my favorite tv episode ever.)

I sat at my desk this morning and found it crawling with sugar ants.
They're tiny and harmless, but I find them terribly annoying. I've
been battling them all morning. In the pic, it's the tiny black dot.

After church tonight, the kids and I stopped for dinner at Erik's
restaurant.

Walmart fun.

Maddie went to a movie with her friend, Taylor, and her mom today.
After that they stopped by Walmart: the happening place in Crestview.
I didn't get to go, but I did get pictures!!!

Sleepyhead

Ty is almost always awake before I am, and once he's awake he's up for
the day. However, this morning he woke up, crawled into my bed and
went back to sleep.

Abby and Joppy

Maddie and Ty have a game in which they play the recurring characters
Abby and Joppy. Tonight Abby and Joppy were Arabian shopkeepers.
Maddie is a good sport playing with her brother, and he loves playing
with her.

A new tradition

We've had a lot of discussion this week about what the holiday means
to us now and meant to us growing up. To me it meant food and people
and fun and laughter...and football! So even though the Big Man
worked early this morning, I was able to cajole him into a quick
football game with the kids when he got home. I can't speak for them,
but I had a blast!

As Ty's P.E. coach said....

Happy Thanksgiving! Don't eat too much turkey!

Ty has quoted that several times...apparently it just cracked him up!

Have a wonderful day!

Blog fodder

Maddie graciously agreed to play school with Ty today. One of the
subjects was "culinary," so they made cookies. Pictures!!!

And we cleaned today, so it looks like we'll put the Christmas tree
and decorations up tomorrow. More pictures to follow!

Look while you can:

One of Ty's top teeth is loose!

Monday, Monday

The Big Red Machine (Maddie's band) is taking a cruise to the Bahamas
in the spring. Erik, Maddie, and I are going, so we are in the
process of getting our passports. We had pictures taken today and had
an appointment to complete our applications scheduled for this
afternoon. However, the agent was sick today, so we had to reschedule
for tomorrow.

Since we had some time, we drove to Destin and tried a restaurant that
we hadn't tried before. It was good, not outstanding, but we
certainly didn't leave hungry.

Now we are settled on the sofa to watch "Rudolph." The kids made
Rudolph and Clarice at Build-a-Bear a while back, so they have them
out, and we're ready to watch. I'm going to try to put the
electronics away and just watch.

I apologize for this ahead of time.

So Maddie and I were lying on my bed watching tv. Ty walked in and
pounded his head against my, um, chest. I asked him what he was doing.
He said, "I'm bouncing on your boob.". Oh dear.

A turtle named Red

Maddie is pet-sitting for our neighbors this week. They have a new
addition: a turtle. It doesn't always come out, but today Maddie and
her partner, Ty, were able to see it.

Another fun day...

Erik isn't feeling too well and had to work, so he may not agree, but
the kids and I had fun.

We rented movies and had a lot of fun together. We snuggled and
giggled...doesn't get better than that.

We watched "Monsters vs. Aliens." Maddie discovered this animal and
decided she wants one. I'm not sure they sell it locally, so I hope a
stuffed animal will do. Plus, in the movie it's depicted as the size
of a tall building. I seriously don't think I want to clean up after
that.

Oh what fun it is...

We had the most fun this evening.

The kids and I went to Fort Walton to do a little pre-season shopping. We found a few things, and then we realized that Santa was coming. Sure it's not even Thanksgiving yet, but last year Ty had no interest in Santa. Maddie and I decided to strike while the iron was hot. This year, he acted like they were old friends. They had tables set up with crayons and coloring books and hats with antlers for the kids. There was free face painting. Then we waited in line for a little while; T. made a friend while we waited, and it was our turn.

He walked right up to Santa and asked for a hula hoop and an art table. Hope Santa comes through for him.

It was just an overall good night, so here are some pictures of it.

And now school is out until November 30. I am so happy. It's been a particularly stressful week at the school. We are eager to take a break and get a lot of sleep!!!! And now I think I'll make sure that at least Ty gets some of that sleep soon!!!

I want to spend my time tying balloons to a chair

Maddie and I went to opening night of the school play. We had a great time. The play wasn't a typical play. It was a series of monologues, and we enjoyed it. We came away with some new phrases to keep in mind. I, of course, have already forgotten one, but I'll think of it.

The Kindergarten at Ty's school has a yearly Christmas play. Today Maddie and I went to the costume meeting. We were really holding out for the part of "reindeer," but, according to Ty, he's going to be an elf. Wish me luck. We'll find out officially from his teacher tomorrow. We stopped at his school on the way home from our school and sat in the parking lot feeling a little like stalkers. We were able to watch Ty getting on the bus, and Erik was able to take a picture of him getting off the bus today.

Then Erik snapped a picture of Ty reading his Thanksgiving book wearing the headdress that he made at school.

And tomorrow is our last day of school for a week! I cannot express how excited I am to wake up without an alarm for days and days. We don't really have any Thanksgiving plans. Erik works Thursday, so we'll stay local. I hope you have a great night!

No, we didn't buy it.

Tonight I get to have an evening out with Maddie. The drama
department at the high school is performing a play, and it's opening
night!!!

Wild Wings

For some reason, we seem to be running out of flatware at our house. So, tonight we went to Sam's to get a new set. Of course, we have pictures! Seriously, if I'm going to post a picture every day, I will take a picture of anything.

\

We ate dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings. It was our first time there, and we had a great time. We played games and had a great meal. Ty protested going, but he ended up having a really good time. I hope your day went well too!

321 days

I've blogged every day now for 321 days! It's almost over. Now the question is: will I continue to do it every day next year too? I'm thinking I will have to. It has become such a part of the routine of my day. I am thinking though about a theme for the year. I've done a picture every day since late January...any suggestions for next year?

And..welcome. You are here because you've been invited. The blog is no longer open to the public. Now I don't have to correct when I use Ty and Maddie's real names!

Two funny things today: Ty was trying to talk today while Maddie and I were talking to each other. Every time he'd try to talk, one of us would say something. He was frustrated and said, "You're stepping on my words!"

Then, I bought Maddie's favorite ice cream today. They usually sell it at this time of year. It's "Peppermint Stick" and has bits of candy cane in it. We had some after dinner. Ty asked what it was, and I told him it was Christmas ice cream. After he tried it, he said, "You're right. It tastes like a holiday."

No new picture today. So here is an old one from last year around this time. It's the day that I took the kids to Turkey Creek for a walk.

Picture of the Day

MK decided that her cat needed some outdoor time. I'm not sure that
the cat agreed, but it made for a nice picture.

Good morning!

Even though I went to bed late, T. Willy was up bright and early. He
hasn't been feeling too well this weekend, but he seems a little
better today. The Big Man is working, so the 3 of us will miss church
so that T. can rest.

Here is a picture of T. Willy and MK before the dance last night. It's
pretty evident that he isn't feeling well, but you can see that MK was
excited!

Fun!

That's the way to describe tonight. One of the principals asked if I had a good time. I told him that I did, and he was like - yeah, right...but I really did! It was a blast. Many of my students were there, and MK, of course. She had a ball. She couldn't stop talking about how fun it was!

After the dance, a group of them walked to Sonic right next door to the school. I drove there, and it was a fun time for them to recap. I took a few girls home, and now we're home and too wired to sleep.

So...pictures:
